School Alerts & Closing
When severe weather or other emergency conditions exist, check this page for news of school alerts and closings.
In general, Noor International Academy will be closed due to weather when:
- Local public school district is closed due to inclement weather only, OR
- A weather emergency makes travel to or from school unsafe.
The decision to close school due to a weather emergency will be made by the Superintendent based on road conditions, forecasts, and other safety concerns as may be reported by the Michigan Department of Transportation, weather services, and the Michigan State Police.
For your convenience, school closing information will be broadcasted on TV stations 2, 4, and 7 and radio station WWJ. Parents and staff will also be contacted by phone.
Early Closing
On rare occasion, it might become necessary to close the school early for an emergency such as extreme weather conditions or unsafe conditions at the school. In case of such an emergency, the school will contact each student’s parents or other emergency contact by telephone to pick up their student at school.
